In a bizarre crossover event that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of forbidden rituals and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a secret sect.
The adventure centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana alongside numerous items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
